Message from the PTA President

Hello, Rogers Parents,

My name is Tara Childers and I am the PTA President for the 2019-2020 school year.  I have two children, Jackson (6th) and Addison (5th), that have enjoyed many years at Rogers and have been a part of all the exciting changes to our school. 

I wanted to reach out to thank all of you for such a wonderful year last year at Rogers. As a PTA, we enjoyed being able to provide fun, new programs (including Family Picnic Night, Team Big Air, and the Dallas Zoo), class parties, field day, book fairs, and other events for your children. We especially want to thank you for your support and time volunteered to make these events happen!  

As we move into the 2019-2020 school year, we want to tell you about an exciting change to our fall fundraiser. We decided it was time to provide something new for the kids, staff, and Rogers community!  Instead of Boosterthon, we are planning a volunteer-led fundraising campaign in which we will ask Rogers families and friends to make a one-time donation.  At the end of our donation period we will have a fun event, the Rogers Ninja Run, to celebrate with the kids and Rogers community.

This change is exciting because not only is the event new and FUN, but we are also reducing our costs significantly. As a result, more of the money donated can be used to provide enrichment programs and fun events for the students, appreciation for the Rogers staff, and support for our school.  This year we hope to be able to provide the following:

Student Education:

Dallas Zoo, Perot Museum, Sky Dome Planetarium, Yuck! Science, Diverse Abilities Day

Family Engagement:

Fall Family Picnic, Donuts with Grownups, Grandparents Lunch, Muffins in the Morning, Family Learning Night Assistance, Spirit Nights

Student Fun:

ALL NEW - 2019 Ninja Run, Fall and Spring Book Fair, Campus Parties, Field Day

Campus Support

Staff Walkie Talkies (support student safety), Indoor Recess Carts, Permanent 9-Square, House Prize Wheel, Event/School Decorations, House Shirts (for the Ninja Run, Field Trips, Field Day, House Fridays), 5th Grade shirts, Staff Appreciation Events, Rogers Landscape Clean Up

We will have the Rogers Ninja Run on October 25th and it will include a Ninja Nation obstacle course for physical fitness and fun for all ages and abilities. For a preview of the course, watch the Ninja Nation Mobile video.

How can you help now? We are seeking sponsors!  

If your business would like to partner with us and help sponsor the 2019 Rogers Ninja Run, please review the sponsorship flyer to see how your tax-deductible donation will enhance your business’ visibility within our school community. Your monetary or goods donations will help cover the cost of the event, so 100% of the money raised during the fundraising campaign can directly benefit our children, staff, and school.
