School Events
Several events are held throughout the year to give parents a chance to visit the school and participate in school events:
GMR - Good Morning Rogers (bi-weekly): On every other Friday, students will gather in the cafeteria or in the backyard (behind the gym, weather permitting) to participate in the morning announcements and to recognize student achievements.
Parents are invited to attend once per month this fun school event, especially when their student(s) is recognized for awards.
Grandparent Lunches: Grandparents are invited to join their Rogers students for lunch in the cafeteria in celebration of Grandparents Day. Lunch can be brought in or purchased in the cafeteria.
Ninja Run: Parents are encouraged to attend the Rogers Ninja Run to cheer on their students.
Donuts with Grown Ups: Parents are invited to join their students for a light breakfast in the Learning Lab from 7:20-7:45. They can enjoy a donut provided by the PTA, bring in their own breakfast, or purchase breakfast from the cafeteria. After breakfast, they are encouraged to visit our fall book fair!
Grade Level Lunches: Parents and family members are invited to join their students for lunches in the cafeteria. Families can also visit the spring book fair during the lunch period.
Classroom Parties: Parents are invited to join their students for certain classroom parties to celebrate the start of winter break, Valentines Day, and the end of the school year.
Field Day: Parents are invited to come watch their children participate in field day events all day at the school. The highlight of the day is the grade-level and parents vs. teachers Tug-o-War competition at the beginning of the day. This is a fun event for students, staff, and parents.
End of Year Classroom Awards (May-TBD): Each classroom meets separately for students to be recognized for their achievements throughout the year.
Weekend/Evening Events
Several events are held in the evening throughout the year:
Spring Family Picnic: Join our Rogers families and staff for the family picnic in the backyard. We'll have the In-N-Out food truck and yard games. We also invite you to step into the Book Fair with your children and find something good to read!
Music Programs: Each grade level learns and performs a musical program under the direction of Ms. Haskell
Family Learning Night: Families are invited to the school to participate in activities and tasks to support learning in math, science, and reading.
Open House: Families are invited to come to the school and visit the classrooms to see all of the great work created by the students over the year. The book fair is also open for families to shop.
