School Events

During School Events

Several events are held throughout the year to give parents a chance to visit the school and participate in school events:

 

GMR - Good Morning Rogers (weekly): Each Friday, students will gather in the cafeteria to participate in the morning announcements and to recognize student achievements. 

Parents are invited to attend this fun school event, especially when their students are recognized for awards.

 

Grandparent Lunches (September 7-8): Grandparents are invited to join their Rogers students for lunch in the cafeteria in celebration of Grandparents Day. Lunch can be brought in or purchased in the cafeteria.

 

 

 

Boosterthon (September 14, 8-11:30): Parents are encouraged to attend the annual Boosterthon Fun Run to cheer on their students.

 

 

 

Breakfast with Dads (October 24-25): Dads are invited to join their students for breakfast in the cafeteria before school starts. They can bring in breakfast from home (or the nearest donut shop!) or can purchase breakfast from the cafeteria. After breakfast, they are encouraged to visit our fall book fair!

 

 

Grade Level Lunches (April 24-26): Parents and family members are invited to join their students for lunches in the cafeteria. Rogers Rhythmics provides entertainment for these lunches. Families can also visit the book fair during the lunch period.

 

Classroom Parties (Winter: December 15, Valentines: February 14, End of Year: June 1): Parents are invited to join their students for their classroom parties to celebrate the start of winter break, Valentines Day, and the end of the school year.

 

 

Field Day (K-4: May 18, 5th: TBD): Parents are invited to come watch their children participate in field day events all day at the school. The highlight of the day is the grade-level Tug-o-War competition at the end of the day. This is a fun event for students, staff, and parents.

 

Grade Level Awards (May 31): Each grade level meets separately to be recognized for their achievements throughout the year. 

 

Weekend/Evening Events

Several events are held in the evening throughout the year:

 

Kinder Orientation (August 17): New Kinder families can visit the school to learn more about Rogers, to become acquainted with the school layout and key staff/PTA members, and to learn about the daily processes at the school, such as drop-off and pick-up.

 

 

Meet the Teacher Night (Kinder: August 17, 1-5: August 18): Families are invited to come to the school to meet their teachers and drop off school supplies in preparation for the first day of school. Parents can also visit stations in the library to learn about other events at the school, such as AlphaBest and Bricks 4 Kids. Families can also join the PTA while at this event.

 

Music Programs: Grades K-3 learn and perform a musical program under the direction of Mrs. Meis. The following programs are scheduled:

Kinder: May 3

1st: October 26

2nd: February 22

3rd: March 22

 

 

Math Night (TBD): Families are invited to the school to participate in activities and tasks that help provide strategies for dealing with match problems in school and in daily life.

 

 

Science Night (TBD): Families are invited to come to the school to participate in activities that celebrate the wonders of science.

 

 

Literacy Night (January 11): Families are invited to the school to participate in activities to celebrate the joys of reading and to work on skills to improve literacy.

 

 

 

Health Night (TBD): Families are invited to the school to visit stations from various groups and individuals supporting healthy lifestyles and behaviors.

 

 

 

Diversity Night (April 12): Families are invited to come to the school to participate in activities to learn more about other cultures and groups of people.

 

 

 

Open House (April 26): Families are invited to come to the school and visit the classrooms to see all of the great work created by the students over the year. The book fair is also open for families to shop.
